First antenatal appointment what to expect

Learn about labor and delivery.

Your prenatal visits offer you the chance to discuss these procedures, potential scenarios, questions and concerns with your doctor. This includes learning about the risks and benefits of every intervention or treatment available to you.

Antenatal Sessions

Antenatal classes help many women prepare for birth and parenthood, especially in their first pregnancy. An important benefit of attending classes was obtaining information about birth and making decisions about care. It was also very useful to get to know other new parents locally. It's satisfying experience to help women to feel confident in their own ability to be relaxed and feel in control, however their birth journey develops. I think that having a baby is such an amazing time in a woman’s life and I feel privileged, not only to be able to support mums during their pregnancy, but to then meet their new babies.
Our all inclusive Active Antenatal method is a ground breaking, effective and all encompassing pregnancy class helping you to learn your antenatal education in a truly effective way – anchored to your breath, your body and your movement – exactly where you will need it on your baby’s birthing day.
The transition to parenthood can be immensely challenging, but at the same time it is awe inspiring and wonderful! Our passion is to support parents, and to increase their confidence in birth & parenthood.

Early pregnancy health tips to prevent blood clots, varicose veins and spider veins!

Having a baby is one of the most enriched and blessed things that you will ever do. If you have decided to start a family or have just found out that you’re pregnant (Congratulations!), there are some things that you will want to keep in mind for both your health and your baby’s.
Early pregnancy health tips:
You know that you will likely experience insane cravings (pickles and ice cream, anyone?) and that fluctuating hormones will likely have you going from “on top of the world” to “clinically depressed” at the drop of a hat, and that’s to say nothing of the morning sickness, exhaustion, swollen feet and legs, and all sorts of other “fun” stuff.

When Should I Start Taking Folic Acid?
Birth defects occur within the first 3-4 weeks of pregnancy. So it’s important to have folate in your system during those early stages when your baby’s brain and spinal cord are developing. The best way to guarantee you’re getting enough folate is to take a multivitamin with 400 micrograms of folic acid, and eat a diet rich in folate-full foods like the following.

How breastfeeding benefits the Mother and Baby!

In the early days of learning to breastfeed, there may be times when you feel like tossing in the nursing bra and reaching for a bottle. You may be tempted to believe those advisers who suggest that formula feeding is easier to just as good. Or you may worry that you’re “not the type of mother” who succeeds at breastfeeding. Yet when you consider how breastfeeding benefits your baby, your family, and yourself, you will find the determination you need to overcome any obstacles and master the womanly art of breastfeeding. What’s good for baby is also good for mother. When mothers follow nature’s lead and breastfeed their babies, their own bodies benefit–so do their budgets!why is antenatal care important
