Hypertension and Bronchial Asthma
Accurate assessment should reveal the exact nature of patient's problems and identify those amenable to physiotherapy, 83 year old lady with a history of Diabetes, Hypertension and Bronchial Asthma
Case Studies
Many benefits are available to the public through the widening scope of physiotherapy. we address orthopaedic, neurological and cardiopulmonary problems among infants, children, adults and geriatric populations.
Patients with neurological disorders such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy and spinal cord injury can benefit greatly with physiotherapy treatment. Interventions focus on muscle re-education and control, rehabilitation of fine and gross motor skills, improving daily function, regaining strength and flexibility, learning how to perform safe transfers, restoring and improving gait and training in the use of mobility aids.
For children suffering from cerebral palsy, physiotherapy is essential in helping to reduce spasticity and deformity, improving postural control, teaching children how to use assistive devices and doing all that is necessary to maximise the child's functional independence. We will also educate the family so they can help carryover what the child has learned during therapy sessions.
Multiple Sclerosis
Ms Anju Malhotra is a case of Multiple Sclerosis: is an inflammatory disease in which the insulating covers of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord are damaged. This damage disrupts the ability of parts of the nervous system to communicate, resulting in a wide range physical, mental and sometimes psychiatric problems. One Month back she had a Relapsing Attack. When she joined Physioheal , she was unable to sit without support, stand and walk. Within fifteen sessions of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, now she is able to stand with support, walk with support. Its an achievement for her and us! Great going Anju!
Severe OA Of Knee
An 85 year old female with severe OA of the knee had been kept awake at night with pain. Prior treatments with anti-inflammatories and cortisone provided temporary, short term relief. CellStim treatment consisted of an IFC arrangement of pads on the medial/ lateral line and inf/ sup poles of patella. Treatments began at 3 times a week and then diminished. After 14 treatments in 10 weeks at 30 Hz/ 300 uA x 10 minutes and .3 Hz/ 40 uA x 10 minutes. The pain reduction indicated 95 % improvement. - Mrs Veena Malik, Age: 85 yrs
Amylotropic Lateral Sclerosis
We are proud to present our another achievement. He is a case of "Amylotropic Lateral Sclerosis" with Disc Bulge at L1-L2-L3-L4 - "a debilitating disease characterized by rapidly progressive weakness, muscle atrophy and fasciculations, muscle spasticity, difficulty speaking (dysarthria), difficulty swallowing (dysphagia), and difficulty breathing (dyspnea)". ALS is the most common of the five motor neuron diseases. We started with Range of motion and stretching exercises to prevent painful spasticity and shortening (contracture) of muscles. We also started strengthening exercises for low back extensors and lower limb muscles. He had a tendency of slouching and hunching his back while walking, so we provided him with a "Taylor's Brace". Now he can walk straight with Back straight and less pain in his low back. Its a debilitating disease & the progression depends from patient to patient. But with physiotherapy , his quality of life and Years with-less-illness will increase. We add life to the years!! Great effort by Dr Divya Gaur (Senior Physiotherapist Dr Divya's Physioheal Physiotherapy Centre ) and Dr Neha Chauhan.

Back Pain Treatment
Patients suffering from most types of low back pain are often referred for physical therapy for four weeks as an initial conservative (nonsurgical) treatment option before considering other more aggressive treatments, including back surgery. The goals of physical therapy are to decrease back pain, increase function, and teach the patient a maintenance program to prevent future back problems.Lower back pain has many causes. Most lower back pain causes are musculoskeletal in origin and known as non-specific low back pain. Most commonly, these back injuries are caused by muscular strains, ligament sprains and joint dysfunction, particularly when pain arises suddenly during or following physical loading of the spine. The good news is that you can take measures to prevent or lessen most back pain episodes. Your physiotherapist is an expert who treats and can help you to prevent low back pain. Early diagnosis and treatment is the easiest way to recover quickly from lower back pain and to prevent a recurrence. The causes of lower back pain are numerous but roughly fall into either a sudden (traumatic) or sustained overstress injuries.

Disc Prolapse
He is a case of Disc Prolapse at various levels with excruciating leg pain and eventually loss of sensation and strength right leg. He underwent Leminectomy & Discectomy at various levels of spine(Lumbar). The portion of the disc that was pressing the nerves was taken out by surgery and the spine was fixed. After surgery , he had no sensation and no strength in his right leg. We started with rehabilitation and physiotherapy. After 2 months of continuous physiotherapy, He is able to walk with a HKAFO (Hip Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis with pelvic band) and Walker. Dr. Divya Gaur and Dr. Neha Chauhan took the lead. Now he can roll side to side in bed, sit to stand with walker, can do transfers from bed to chair and vice versa with walker. Still way to go, but going strong!
