Case Studies
Many benefits are available to the public through the widening scope of physiotherapy. we address orthopaedic, neurological and cardiopulmonary problems among infants, children, adults and geriatric populations.
Patients with neurological disorders such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy and spinal cord injury can benefit greatly with physiotherapy treatment. Interventions focus on muscle re-education and control, rehabilitation of fine and gross motor skills, improving daily function, regaining strength and flexibility, learning how to perform safe transfers, restoring and improving gait and training in the use of mobility aids.
For children suffering from cerebral palsy, physiotherapy is essential in helping to reduce spasticity and deformity, improving postural control, teaching children how to use assistive devices and doing all that is necessary to maximise the child's functional independence. We will also educate the family so they can help carryover what the child has learned during therapy sessions.

Chondromalacia Patellae
Another Important case for us, treated well and recovered! She was diagnosed with "chondromalacia patellae" means "softening of the articular cartilage of the knee-cap." She complained of pain in front of her knee around the knee-cap. Also, the pain comes and goes, but usually with squatting, kneeling, and negotiating steps, especially going down the stairs, it aggravated. She is engaged in strenuous sport activities, but experiences pain with repeated bending of the knees .So, basically at this stage, when she came to us, according to her symptomatology, there was no breakdown of the articular cartilage of the patella yet, and was totally reversible. In fact, at this stage, because there wasn't any actual softening or breakdown of the cartilage, a more appropriate diagnosis would be "Anterior knee pain syndrome" or "Patellofemoral stress syndrome". Apart from the regular Electrotherapy protocol, we did kinesiology taping to refine the patellar tracking and added rigorous quadriceps sets to our protocol. It worked good for her! She has improved and is back to her sports and aerobics!
Lower Back Pain
I recently attended The Physioheal Physiotherapy Clinic in Delhi, Janak puri, with crippling back pain which had started quite suddenly, restricting every thing I did including climbing stairs, dressing myself, getting in and out of bed, sitting in the car and sleep was impossible without pain killers. I had been in pain for two weeks when my wife persuaded me to go to the Clinic as she had previously attended with severe back pain. After four visits with Dr.Divya, she made a complete recovery. She wanted to know the full history of the injury and asked me to demonstrate how far I could bend in all directions, which was very little. On examination the doctor was shocked to discover that my lower back simply did not flex at all. She gave me treatment on my spine and gave me a list of very specific exercises to do and another appointment in two weeks.
I religiously did the exercises twice a day and the improvement in my movement and reduction in the pain was remarkable. I was able to drive myself to the next appointment, walk a considerable distance from car to Clinic and climb on to the treatment bench without assistance. I continue to do the exercises twice daily. I am very pleased with the results and can highly recommend the Clinic. Thank you once again.
Laser Treatment
Laser Therapy works by creating a concentrated beam of light radiation onto the area that requires treatment. This promotes healing of the targeted tissue as well as reducing pain, inflammation and swelling. Laser therapy can be used used for skin conditions and soft tissue injuries and to heal open wounds. Laser therapy is generally used in the treatment of inflammatory problems like tendonitis or acute ligament sprain such as ankle or groin strain. It can also help in the physical break down of thickened scar tissue after an operation. Electrotherapy shall be used as appropriate with treatment with Physios guidance on the correct programmes for use dependent on your condition.
Congenital Femoral Deficiency
"Ms Sejal" is a case of Congenital Femoral Deficiency. The rate of growth of the Leg bone was markedly less since childhood as compared to the growth of other bones in the body owing to Leg Length Discrepancy and Short Leg. She underwent EXTREMITY LENGTHENING AND RECONSTRUCTION SURGERY (The Ilizarov Method) at the age of 4years & RE-SHAPING THE SHALLOW HIP SOCKET(acetabulum) i.e Hip Osteotomy at the age of 9years. We started with Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy after her second operation. Now after a month & half of Physiotherapy she is able to Walk without support. She has re-joined school and now is Happy to walk like everyone else. She enjoys and now is able to play tippi-tippi-tap & unch-nich-ka-papda like games with her friends. Dr. Divya Gaur, Dr. Neha Chauhan, Sejal's Sister and her parents all supported and worked hard to make her Stand tall and rule the world
Multiple Sclerosis
Ms Anju Malhotra is a case of Multiple Sclerosis: is an inflammatory disease in which the insulating covers of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord are damaged. This damage disrupts the ability of parts of the nervous system to communicate, resulting in a wide range physical, mental and sometimes psychiatric problems. One Month back she had a Relapsing Attack. When she joined Physioheal , she was unable to sit without support, stand and walk. Within fifteen sessions of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, now she is able to stand with support, walk with support. Its an achievement for her and us! Great going Anju!
He is a case of Disc Prolapse at various levels with excruciating leg pain and eventually loss of sensation and strength right leg. He underwent Leminectomy & Discectomy at various levels of spine(Lumbar). The portion of the disc that was pressing the nerves was taken out by surgery and the spine was fixed. After surgery , he had no sensation and no strength in his right leg. We started with rehabilitation and physiotherapy. After 2 months of continuous physiotherapy, He is able to walk with a HKAFO (Hip Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis with pelvic band) and Walker. Dr. Divya Gaur and Dr. Neha Chauhan took the lead. Now he can roll side to side in bed, sit to stand with walker, can do transfers from bed to chair and vice versa with walker. Still way to go, but going strong!
Severe OA Of Knee
An 85 year old female with severe OA of the knee had been kept awake at night with pain. Prior treatments with anti-inflammatories and cortisone provided temporary, short term relief. CellStim treatment consisted of an IFC arrangement of pads on the medial/ lateral line and inf/ sup poles of patella. Treatments began at 3 times a week and then diminished. After 14 treatments in 10 weeks at 30 Hz/ 300 uA x 10 minutes and .3 Hz/ 40 uA x 10 minutes. The pain reduction indicated 95 % improvement. - Mrs Veena Malik, Age: 85 yrs
